Community: Writer’s group launch collection of ‘Wild Atlantic Words’

The Club’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) takes place on 21st November in the Clubhouse at 8:00pm.

Bórd na nÓg AGM takes place on 28th November in the Clubhouse at 7:00pm. All who are interested in the future of the club should attend these meetings.

There was no winner of the Royal Flush Jackpot. The Numbers drawn were 4,10,17,23

Consolation prizes went to Liam Kelly, Dunkineely, Jordan Watters Ardara, Emma Baskin Dunkineely,

The Active Age/Over 55s Club meet every 2 weeks on a Wednesday in the GAA Club 3:00-5pm

The Club’s 25 card Drive has resumed for the winter months on Wednesday nights in Mary Murrin’s at 9:00pm. Everybody’s welcome.

Book Launch

Meas Writer’s Group invite you to the launch of their new collection of Short Stories, entitled ‘Wild Atlantic Words’, on the 16th Novemeber, in the Manhattan Steakhouse, Donegal Town, at 8pm. All Welcome.

 

South Donegal Branch of the Irish Pony Club

The club continues training for riding and stable management (D+ Test). Pony Club wishes all participants good luck.

 

O’Donnell School of Music

We are fortunate to have some excellent musicians living in our community, and we are also fortunate to have the opportunity to learn from these talented individuals. Killaghtee National School will be having a Christmas Service on Wednesday 21st December at 7:00pm in the Methodist Church Dunkineely. Everybody is welcome.

Recovery from Emotional Distress

GROW – (Gradually, Regaining, Our, Wellbeing) Support and a program for recovery. Weekly Meetings at Niall Mór Centre, Killybegs on Thursday evenings at 7:30pm. Dunkineely Community Limited (DCL)

The DCL office is open from 9:00-1:00 Monday to Thursday 9:00-12:30 Friday. Feel free to call into the office for a chat, use the Internet (20c per half hour), print or photocopy documents (20c per page) or borrow a book. We also have several rooms to hire for meetings by the hour or session at very reasonable rates.

 

Dancing Classes

Learn to Jive, Waltz, Foxtrot Quick step and 2 Hand Dances, Venue: Bayview Hotel Killybegs every Wednesday at 8:00pm. Come along for a good night’s fun and exercise.

Bluestack Ramblers’ Walking Calendar      

 

On 20th November Betty Slane & Kathleen Friel will lead a 3 hour moderate walk at Tramore Beach & Sandhills. Meeting at 11.00 am at the Filling Station, Killybegs Road, Ardara. Tea/Coffee at Alan & Betty’s afterwards. For further information phone 087 9777554.

DCL Library:

Dunkineely Community Ltd (DCL) has a small library of over 1000 books. We have books ranging from Children’s Literature to Teenage Fiction (The Fault in our stars), Biographies to Classics (Jane Austen – Pride and Prejudice), from Horror to Comedy, Booker-Prize to Thrillers, Health to Hobbies, etc. Borrowing costs 20c per book.
