Patrick Gildea Hairdressing: Tiger Eye – the latest balayage update

The Balayage hair trend has been around for a long time but now it’s getting a slightly new twist and a new name to match – The Tiger Eye!

Patrick asked Elaine one of our Master Colour Experts to tell us all about the beautiful new hair painting style that is set to be huge is January 2017.

Elaine is really excited about the Tiger eye Balayage Technique as it brings warmth and beautiful intensity to brunettes through bronze, gold, caramel and deeper and lighter shades of auburn. This gorgeous new couture colour is achieved through the personalisation of placement of colour using the Balayage hair painting technique.

Elaine says “the tiger eye name is inspired by the precious tiger’s eye stone (which is said to have healing properties so choosing it as a winter colour means that you will start the new year off with positive vibes!) .

“The Tiger’s Eye stone has beautiful caramel, gold and brown colours. By adapting this to you hair you can achieve a depth of colour that will make your hair look healthier and shinier and give it more dimension. The best thing is that it requires little maintenance.”

Elaine has chosen some beautiful celebrities that will give you further hair and Tiger Eye inspiration.

Jennifer Lopez

J Lo always looks stunning and we are not surprised that

she is one of the first beautiful brunettes to try out the Tiger eye

Trend. Ok so let’s be honest her long gorgeous locks that are the envy of many just couldn’t look bad, but they look even more beautiful here  with their rich, warm buttery golden effect.

Eva Mendes

A subtler take on the Tiger Eye trend and illustrates just how personal the technique can be -hand painted caramel highlights sneaking out from a chocolate brown base with beautiful depth and warmth.  Perfect for winter.

Gigi Hadid

Gigi has been slowly fading out her signature beach blonde locks now for a few months and we’re not surprised to see that she has embraced the Tiger Eye hair trend. The darker pieces of hair reflect the light and give natural shine. Like Gigi we would always use more than one colour to give a more natural feel and with Tiger eye a mixture of golds, caramels, reds and honey’s work perfectly.
