Yesterday Rita Grant flew home from New York for a belated Christmas reunion and surprised her mother and father Isabel and Patrick in Clonmany.
“Where did you come from?” Isabel said in surprise before happily embracing her daughter.
Isabel’s granddaughter Tanya Maria says; “My auntie visits every summer but due to family commitments in America she never gets over at Christmas time.
“My granny loves her daughter so much and we are such a close family.
“She has my aunts and uncles here in Donegal, but of course she misses my aunt that’s in America.
“We took some buns from Mc Gettigan’s bakery as she always associates them with her.
“It was just very unexpected for her and you can see by her reaction how shocked and happy she was!
“Talk about an emotional reunion! I was very lucky to capture the surprise and shock on my granny’s face. Her face describes it all!
