Annual Streets of Ballyshannon 5K to take place at end of January

The fourth Annual Streets of Ballyshannon 5k Road Race takes place on Saturday the 28th January 2017 at 11.30 am.

The race starts and finishes at the Lakeside Centre on Belleek Road and goes through the Port side of Ballyshannon. Although quite a flat course, there is gradual climb for part of last kilometre back to finish.

There is a prize fund of €500 on offer plus fantastic spot prizes for joggers, fun runners, couch to 5k participants, and walkers.

Walkers will start at 11.10am.

Liam Feely N. Leitrim A.C has won the race twice and 2 years ago Olympian Breege Connolly was first home in Ladies Section.

The event is being organised by the local Ballyshannon Rugby Club to help raise funds for continued development of underage rugby in area.

Refreshments will be provided after the race.
