UNDER 12 BOYS -Sligo 26 – Blaze 21.
Blaze under 12 boys travelled to Sligo Sunday 15th January to play Sligo All Stars. Having lost to Sligo at home before Xmas the boys were determined to do better and improve from their pre Xmas performance. Demonstrating better defence and determination they most definitely improved only losing by 5 points. They excelled in the last quarter and despite Sligo’s full court press scored 12 points against Sligo’s 8. The boys never gave up despite the challenge and displayed improved team work. Well done to all the boys. Final score
UNDER 14 GIRLS – Ballyshannon 36 Blaze 57
This game was the second meeting of these two teams with another two fixtures to come as both teams play in BNI league and NW league. With Blaze dominating the boards at both ends of the court, this insured the visiting team holding the majority of possession. However, the Ballyshannon girls were able to weave into the blaze defence on a few occassions to score from well finished layups. Both teams worked extremely hard and are improving from game to game.
