Silver Tassie hold customer loyalty night in aid of Ronan Sweeney Fund

THE Friends of Ronan Sweeney Rehabilitation Fund will be the beneficiary of this Saturday’s ‘Annual Customer Loyalty Night’ at the Silver Tassie Hotel.

Woodlands native Ronan Sweney sustained significant spinal injuries in May 2016, in an accidental fall from his bedroom window in Sligo, where he was a student at Sligo IT.

The fall has resulted in limited movement in Ronan’s lower limbs.

Ronan is continuing his rehabilitation programme at home, which is incurring substantial costs in terms of physiotherapy and acquiring specialist equipment.
Ronan played in the Donegal Youth League with Letterkenny Rovers and played in the USL with Swilly Rovers and Fanad United, while he turned out for Fanad in the Under-19 League of Ireland.

The Friends of Ronan Sweeney Rehabilitation Fund is issuing an open invitation to all come to along and support Saturday night’s fundraiser as part of the Silver Tassie’s Annual Customer Loyalty function.

Ronan underwent emergency surgery in the Mater Hospital following the fall and spent a short period in the National Rehabilitation Hospital.

Ronan has made substantial progress during that time with movement in a number of muscle groups and recently returned home.

However, to maintain momentum and enable the best opportunity for full recovery, all avenues, equipment, mechanisms and spinal injury rehabilitation facilities are being explored.

To support the financial cost of this, along with providing a high level of independence for Ronan through the recovery period, a number of fundraising events have taken place.

To coincide with the final fundraising night in the Silver Tassie Hotel, the Friends of Ronan Sweeney Rehabilitation Fund are holding a ticket draw with some great prizes: 1. €1,500 Cash; 2. 43″ Smart Tv; 3. Overnight stay and meal for 2 in Benedict’s Hotel, Belfast City, including tour of Titanic Museum; 4. Samsung Digital Smart Camera; 5. €300 Irish Ferries Voucher.

Tickets are priced at 10 Euro and are available by contacting the Friends of Ronan Sweeney Rehabilitation Fund Facebook page, any family/committee member or Lagan Harps FC members.

Saturday night sees the Silver Tassie host its customer loyalty night with the funds being donated to the Friends of Ronan Sweeney Rehabilitation Fund.

There is a complimentary 4 course dinner and dance with music by Half the Cuff and special guest David Craig.

Those interested must book in advance at the Silver Tassie on 9125619. Doors open at 7pm with dinner at 8pm sharp.
