Houston hands Finn Harps massive boost for new season

FINN HARPS have been handed a massive boost for the 2017 season after Sean Houston penned a new contract at the club.

Houston was player of the year in 2016 when he scored five League goals and was one of the main reasons that Harps survived in the top flight.

While the likes of St Patrick’s Athletic and Galway United were believed to have been keen on the Letterkenny native, Houston has agreed to stay at Finn Park for the 2017 season.

Houston is in his second spell at Finn Park having previously been at the club in 2009.

Houston came up the ranks under Ollie Horgan’s guidance at Fanad United and he has also had stints at UCD, Bray Wanderers and Derry City.

Harps will kick-off their pre-season campaign on Tuesday night when they face the Inishowen League Oscar Traynor team at Maginn Park.

Harps fans are likely to get a chance to run the rule over a number of new signings like Danny Morrissey, Ciaran O’Connor, Caolan McAleer, Jonny Bonner, Harry Doherty and Killian Cantwell.
