Roscommon name team to face Donegal

Roscommon Manager Kevin McStay today announced his team to face Donegal in round two of the Allianz league on Sunday.

The team features a number of changes from last week’s team that faced Tyrone in Omagh.

These include the absence of Ultan Harney who sustained an injury playing for DCU in the Sigerson Cup on Wednesday and also David Murray who was injured on Sunday in the game in Omagh and is following the concussion protocols.

Roscommon Vice-Captain Sean McDermott reverts to his usual home on the full back line as he looks set to make his 159th appearance in the primrose and blue.

McStay retains faith in his debutants from last week with Éire Óg’s Colm Lavin, Oran’s Thomas Featherstone and Tulsk’s Tadhg O Rourke all starting again while Shane Killoran who came on as a sub against Tyrone to make his first national start retains his place on the team as does his Elphin clubmate Fintan Cregg.

Roscommon Gaels’ John Mc Manus who also came on as a sub last Sunday has retained his place on the field.

The game marks a return of Allianz League football to Roscommon’s Hyde Park following the issues associated with the pitch last year.

Roscommon played 8 Allianz League Games in different locations last year including the game against Dublin which was moved to Carrick on Shannon at very short notice.

The game throws in at 2-30pm on Sunday with tickets on the day costing €15 or €12 if purchased before midnight on Saturday at Roscommon GAA or through Supervalu or Centra outlets nationwide.
