Finn Harps goalkeeper Harry Doherty has received a late call-up to a home-based Republic of Ireland Under-21 squad ahead of a game tomorrow.

Noel King’s side take on the Irish Amateur squad at the AUL Complex tomorrow and Doherty has joined up.

Doherty was signed by Harps boss Ollie Horgan from Cockhill Celtic, following the departure of Richard Brush to Ballinamallard.

Doherty comes highly rated and King has clearly been impressed.

Doherty joins Harps team-mate Ethan Boyle in the squad, while St Johnston native Ronan Curtis, who plays for Derry City, is also named.

Buncrana man Doherty has been at Charlton Athletic and Brighton & Hove Albion and is the second Harps goalkeeper to get an international call-up this week.

Lee McCarron, also from Buncrana and another former Cockhill goalkeeper, is currently in La Manga with the Republic of Ireland Under-19s for games against Norway, Portugal and Slovakia.
