Finn Harps, Cockhill Celtic to clash in EA Sports Cup

Finn Harps have been drawn at home to Ulster Senior League champions Cockhill Celtic in the first round of the EA Sports Cup.

The competition begins the week of Monday, March 20th as holders St. Patrick’s Athletic, who recorded a 4-1 win over Limerick in last year’s final, will start their defence at home to Bluebell United.

Matches to be played on Monday/Tuesday, March 20th/21st with dates and times to be confirmed at a later date.

Last year at the same stage of the competition, Harps defeated Cockhill 1-0 with Ethan Boyle netting the goal.

The draw was made this morning at the League offices at Abbotstown.

The full EA SPORTS Cup first-round draw is as follows:-

Pool 1 – Cobh Ramblers v Avondale United; Wexford v Waterford. Byes: Cork City, Limerick.

Pool 2 – Finn Harps v Cockhill Celtic; Galway United v Mayo League. Byes: Derry City, Sligo Rovers.

Pool 3 – Drogheda United v Bray Wanderers; St. Patrick’s Athletic v Bluebell United. Byes: Dundalk, U.C.D.

Pool 4 – Athlone Town v Longford Town; Bohemians v Cabinteely. Byes: Shamrock Rovers, Shelbourne.
