There promises to be some very cool sights in Rathmullan tomorrow (Sat) for the Rathmullan Polar Plunge.
The charity event, which is in aid of the Special Olympics, kicks off at 11am on the pier.
People can come along on the morning for what promises to be a great community event.
According to one source, a few of those who promised to take the plunge are having second thoughts!
“There seems to be a lot of CHICKENS out there afraid of the cold AND NOT WILLING TO PLUNGE! The plunge is not deep and won’t be over shoulder height so you can walk back onto the shoreline without having to swim.
“We ask everyone to come along for the craic and support the event. For anyone doing it bring all your supporters!”
Participants will be requested to sign on at the sign-on tent and there will be changing tents – male and female for you.
Hot showers will be provided for all participants in The Rathmullan Resource Centre afterwards which is situated beside the Pier.
Again, for anyone who has not previously registered their interest, you can sign up on the morning, nobody will be turned away. Every euro will help the athletes!
There will be lovely treats for all participants afterwards from the famous Dougal’s Woodfired Pizza stall and a great hot coffee from the Coffee Time stall!
