MET Éireann warning lifted but motorists still urged to exercise caution

A status yellow rainfall warning had been issued by MET Éireann yesterday morning for Connacht, Donegal, Clare, Cork, Kerry and Limerick; along with the possibility of snow on higher ground.

Although the status yellow warning has now been lifted, motorists are still advised to exercise caution due to sleet and snow that may still be on the roads.

Donegal County Council’s gritting map shows that rain is forecast throughout the county, with patches of snow showers scattered throughout the county.

Tonight will be cold, with some showers. Lowest temperatures of 1 to 4 degrees, with frost in places and a risk of fog and ice.

Tomorrow, Sunday will be cold and mostly cloudy with some showers. Light to moderate south to south-east winds will veer westerly. Highest temperature of 7 to 9 degrees.
