Twitter was impressed by Donegal’s win over Cavan last night

Donegal recorded a fine 1-16 to 0-11 win over Cavan last night at Kingspan Breffni Park – and Twitter was impressed by Rory Gallagher’s side.

Eoin McHugh’s goal early in the second half and a Man of the Match display from Ciaran Thompson fired Donegal to a win that means Donegal are all-but safe in Division 1.

It would represent a seismic shift were Donegal, with five points from their four games so far, to be hauled into the quagmire now.

Donegal look set to stay in Division One after losing nine players from last year. Not bad going.

That was fairly decent from Donegal. Saying that, Cavan were pure scutter.

Ciaran Thompson has it

@StephenDeanMcF good player. Some real quality young men coming through. Donegal football is in a good place.

Ciaran Thompson is a class act

What Donegal are doing is outstanding. To lose so many players and not only compete but consolidate themselves. Brilliant stuff

Rocket of a goal from Eoin McHugh. Donegal ought to be 10 points ahead #GAA #AllianzLeagues

Five points from midfield.. Super work from Ciaran Thompson, deserving Man of the Match! #donegal #AllianzLeagues

Donegal hold the dubs to a draw and go out and trounce Cavan by 8 points just show how good of team they really are onwards and upwards.

Thank you very much guys.
Chilly evening in Cavan but watching Donegal win warms the heart. Great victory, look sharp for this time of year https://t.co/JmcGLA6QW9
