Finn Harps’ Ethan Boyle and Derry City’s Ronan Curtis have been included in the Republic of Ireland squad for Saturday-week’s 2019 UEFA U21 Championship qualifier against Kosovo.

Ireland take on the Kosovans at Tallaght Stadium on Saturday, 25 March, in their opening game of the qualifiers.

Last month, Harps’ versatile Boyle and Derry attacker Curtis, from St Johnston, played in a home-based Under-21 team against the Irish Amateur squad.

Italy and San Marino will co-host the UEFA U21 Championships Finals tournament. Ireland are grouped with Germany, Israel, Norway, Azerbaijan and Kosovo, who are entering the UEFA U21 qualifiers for the first time.

The nine group winners advance to the finals with the four best runners-up entering a play-off to decide the final two spots in the tournament alongside the Italians.

The Irish Under-21s are managed by Noel King, who had a spell as Finn Harps manager in 2003 and 2004.
