O’Donnell Park in Letterkenny is in line to be selected as the County Pitch of the Year.

This week, St Eunan’s GAA Club were informed that O’Donnell Park was chosen as one of the top six places in the competition to find the County Pitch of the Year.

O’Donnell Park hosted Donegal’s Allianz League game against Kerry earlier this year and is the regular home of the county senior hurlers.

The winning county will receive an award from Uachtarán Aogán Ó Fearghail and the chairman of the National Pitch Work Group, Kieran McGann, during half-time in a Championship match played at Croke Park later in the year

O’Donnell Park will be inspected by Stuart Wilson, Pitch Manager, Croke Park Stadium and Dr Stephen Baker of the Sports Turf Research Institute in June.

Groundsman Vincent McGlynn and his team have the venue in pristine condition all-year round and this week’s news is testament to their endeavours.
