Lifford Strabane AC hammer thrower Brendan O’Donnell reached a new personal best and a European Junior qualification standard today in Cork.
The St Eunan’s College student, who has already built up a vast portfolio of experience in the Irish vest, was competing at the Leevale Track and Field Meet in Cork.
O’Donnell reached out to a huge pb of 67.20m, beating the 66m standard.
O’Donnell’s throw saw him win the Junior Men’s event.
The European Championships take place in Italy in July.
