New Donegal security company will spread its net far and wide

A new company, specialising in the security needs of the fisheries sector, has been launched in Killybegs.

CSB Security Ltd. will provide 24-hour security as required for fishing vessels and other harbour users and for fish processing factories, other ancillary industries, local businesses and private houses.

CSB Security Ltd. is the brain-child of former skipper and boat owner, Cathal Boyle.

He said he hoped the new company will provide job opportunities for other fishermen and fish factory workers, many of whom have felt the impact of quota restrictions and increased mechanisation.

Explained Mr Boyle: “The fishing and fish processing industries are quite specialised and would present exceptional challenges for traditional security firms. However, former workers in these areas will bring specialised knowledge and experience which will be invaluable in a security context.”

He stressed that CSB Security Ltd. will operate to the highest standards and that all staff are fully trained and vetted. The company is licensed by the Irish Private Security Authority under section 22 of the Private Security Services Acts 2004 and 2011, to provide event security and static security services.

The new company, which has taken offices at Bruach na Mara, St Catherine’s Road, Killybegs, will work closely with Letterkenny-based Sheridan Security, Letterkenny, a long-established company which specialises in the installation and servicing of alarms and security systems.

Performing the official launching of CSB Security Ltd. at a function in the Tara Hotel, Mr Thomas Pringle TD stressed the value of assets in the fisheries and other sectors in Killybegs.

Along with fishing vessels and their equipment, there are also assets pertaining to offshore oil and gas exploration, tourism, fish processing and ancillary industries including electronics, hydraulics, boatbuilding and repair, marine engineering and netmaking, he said.

CSB Security Ltd. offers a year-round 24/7 service, including keyholding, mobile patrols, CCTV surveillance and alarm response.

CSB Security Ltd. can be contacted by telephone at 087-224 4708, or 087-195 8769, or by email at info@csbsecurity.ie.
