With the CAO ‘Change-of-Mind’ deadline approaching, and with the Leaving Certificate exams coming to an end, Letterkenny Institute of Technology (LYIT) has launched 8 exciting new CAO programmes.

The 8 new programmes offer students a diverse mix of choices in the final days of the ‘Change-of-Mind’ facility.

Leaving Certificate students, registered with the CAO have until 5.15pm on 1st July, to avail of the ‘Change-of-Mind’ facility. “If you’re still undecided, or haven’t found what you’re looking for, the ‘Change-of-Mind’ facility provides students with a fantastic opportunity to adjust their choices.” commented, Paul Hannigan. President, LYIT.

Just in time for the ‘Change-of-Mind’ deadline, LYIT has launched 8 new CAO programmes, ranging from Level 6 Higher Certificate to Level 8 Honours Degree. These programmes are developed with an industry focus and most of these programmes include work placement opportunities.

There are 3 new Level 8 Honours Degree programmes and 5 new Level 6/7 programmes. The Level 8 list now includes: the Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Construction Management; the Bachelor of Arts (Hons) Common Entry with Degree Award options in: Animation; Digital Film & Video; Graphic & Digital Design;  Fashion with Promotion; and the Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Sport and Exercise with Performance or Physical Education.

The Level 6/7 list now includes: the Bachelor Science in Computing Common Entry with Degree Award options in General Computing; Cloud Technology; Mobile Technology, the Bachelor of Arts in Digital Film & Video, the Bachelor of Arts in Graphic and Digital Design; the Bachelor of Business Common Entry with Degree Award options in: Accounting; Management; Marketing and the Higher Certificate in Business (Administration, IT and Customer Service).

Paul Hannigan, further added, “We strive to provide a broad range of diverse CAO programmes at LYIT and we aim to meet the needs of students by developing new programmes that match demand. We now have over 50 CAO programmes to choose from at LYIT, from 4 Schools, including the Schools of Tourism, Engineering, Business and Science.

“The ‘Change of Mind’ facility provides Leaving Certificate students with a time to reflect, with an opportunity to adjust choices, right up until the beginning of July. This period of change has proved very successful for LYIT and the launch of the 8 new programmes fits perfectly with the ‘Change-of-Mind’ window.”
