The Yellow Pepper Restaurant sponsored The Open Competition on Wednesday 21st June in celebrating the Anniversary of 50 years of Golf in Barnhill.
All entrants on the day were placed in a free draw, the winner to receive a €50 voucher from the sponsors (Yellow Pepper Restuarant) the draw is taking place Wednesday 28/06/17 presentation night .
Darragh Heaney had an excellent game on the day 21/06/17 with 14 pars and posted a score of 42 pts. Michael Shiel Jnr. came in a close second with 41 pts and Paul Doherty third with 37 pts.

On Sat 24/06/17 there was a very large turnout for Danny McLoughlin’s Presidents Day. Michael Shiel Jnr. won with an excellent score of 43 pts. having 1 birdie and 13 pars. Roy McCrory came in second with 41 pts and Kevin Kiely third with 38 pts.
The Open Competition on Sunday 25/06/17 was won by Cyril Ming scoring 39 pts. (bot) with 2 birdies and 9 pars , Tony Logue coming in second 39 pts and Jason Coyle came in third with 38 pts.
Golfer of the Week for the Letterkenny Open went to a very deserving Ciaran Gilcreest (Ciaran Mac Giolla Rua O’ Ruairc ) playing off a handicap of 5. Great to see Ciaran back in the winning arena.
Letterkenny Barton Shield Team went to Foyle on Sun 18/06/17 to compete in the First Round of the competition. They were up against a good Murvagh Team. While Letterkenny played with great heart and determination with loads of birdies Murvagh won by the tighest of margins , 2 holes.
Congratulations to Seamus Farren, Captain of the  Donegal Inter Club league team. On Monday 19/06/17 they defeated North West golf Club by 5 matches to Nil in a competitive but sporting match  – Wins for Jamie Foley/Daragh McMenamin, Kieran Sweeney/ Kevin Kiely, Liam Wiseman/Henry McCahey, John Russell/Michael Boyd, and Brian O’Donnell/Lester Speer – the return match is fixed for Thursday the 29th of June.
On Sunday 25/06/17 Letterkenny Minor League Team played Northwest in Letterkenny.
It was a very competitive match played in good spirits. Letterkenny won by 3/2. Tim Farrell had a great birdie on the 18th to secure the third win in the match. Letterkenny are now going to Northwest on Sunday 2nd for the return match.
On Friday 30th we have the Seniors Competition and on Sat 1st July The Crumlin’s Children’s Hospital Classic. On Wed. 05/06/17 we have the Speers Drapery Open.
