Job Vacancy: The Ballybofey and Stranorlar Credit Union seeks a Finance Officer to manage the day to day activities of accounts.

Job Title: Finance Officer

Reporting to: CEO & Board of Directors

B & S Credit Union is a progressive community credit union based in Donegal. B & S Credit Union is committed to meeting new regulatory requirements and enhancing its financial reporting and organisational structure. To this end, a Finance Officer is being recruited. This person will have responsibility for managing the day to day activities of accounts.

Main Responsibilities

  • Prepare financial / management accounts, budgets and cash flow projections
  • Report consistently on financial performance to the CEO
  • Attend Board and Committee meetings, as requested by the CEO and Board
  • Statistical analysis, statutory returns and regulatory reporting
  • Develop & implement financial controls
  • Manage the investment portfolio and liaise with investment advisors
  • Undertake cost / benefit analyses for capital investments and new services
  • Participate in decision-making, as a key member of the management team
  • Support various Board Committees, including Investment Committee
  • Identify and report internal and external risks in finance area to the risk officer.
  • Implement Board policies.
  • The successful candidate should possess:
  • A suitable accountancy qualification and knowledge of FRS102
  • Experience in a similar financial role desirable but not essential
  • An understanding of the ethos of credit unions and sectorial challenges
  • Computer literacy, with good Excel & presentation skills and experience of accounting software
  • Be proficient in preparing & analysing monthly financial accounts and statutory returns within pre-set deadlines
  • A desire to join our team and undertake training if and when required.

Terms:
Salary negotiable based on qualifications and relevant experience.
