The bodies of two fishermen have been recovered from the water at Malinbeg in Glencolmcille today.

The two men, a father and son who are originally from Poland, went fishing off Teelin Pier yesterday in a Rigid Inflatable Boat (a RIB).

However, locals raised the alarm after noticing that the two men had not returned.

A search operation was mounted and involved the Killybegs and Bunbeg Coast Guard, the Arranmore and Bundoran Lifeboats and Rescue 118.

The two men, who live in Ireland, were on a fishing expedition in the area.

This morning, a local farmer found one of the bodies and this afternoon the second body was taken from the water by members of the search team.
