McGuinness tastes another win – and clean sheet – as Beijing defeat Guizhoue

Jim McGuinness’s new club, Beijing Sinobo Guoan, won again this afternoon, their second win since the appointment of the new management

Former Donegal boss McGuinness is the assistant manager to Roger Schmidt at the club.

Appointed following a difficult start to the season, they won last week when they defeated League leaders Guangzhou Evergrande 2-0.

They followed that up with another 2-0 win, this time against Guizhoue Renhe at the Workers Stadium in Beijing.

Jonathan Soriano – who netted both goals last week – hit the opening goal from a penalty in the 39th minute and Zhang Chiming doubled the advantage in the 57th minute.

The win moved Beijing up to sixth in the table – and just four points off third-placed Hebei.
