Breaking News: Young man rescued after fall off cliff

Mulroy Coast Guard and Rescue 118 responded to an incident near Fanad Arch this evening.

At quarter past four they were alerted that a young man fell from a small cliff around eight feet high.

The young man complained of a sore back and may have a possible head injury, but fortunately it is believed that he will be okay.

He did not fall into the sea.

The spot where the fall occurred was highly inaccessible for the ambulance crew, so Rescue 118 was called in to assist the young man.

He has been taken to Letterkenny University Hospital.

It is believed that he was taking an alternative route to The Great Pollet Sea Arch; not the route that local activists campaigned to have access to.
