Less than a week after leaving Finn Harps, Raphoe youngster Simon McGlynn has found a new club.

McGlynn has signed with NIFL Championship side Dergview, just days before the start of the new Irish League season.

Last Tuesday, McGlynn informed Harps manager Ollie Horgan of his decision to leave Finn Park, frustrated by a lack of first team opportunities.

McGlynn started two EA Sports Cup games and made five brief substitute appearances in the League.

Top scorer for the Harps Under-19s last season, with 14 goals, McGlynn, has switched to Dergview.

Managed by Richard Clarke, the Darragh Park outfit finished fifth in the Championship last season.

They begin their new season on Friday night when they host neighbours Institute before traveling to Loughgall the following week.

St Johnston native Shane Porter is also on the books of Dergview, the centre-half having signed for the club last season.
