Ronan Curtis’ proposed move to Ostersunds has fallen through – player to stay at Derry

Ronan Curtis’ proposed move to Swedish club Ostersunds has fallen through after the player failed to agree personal terms.

The Derry City winger traveled to the Allsvenskan club yesterday to discuss terms after Derry agreed a fee with the Swedish outfit.

St Johnston man Curtis, however, has opted to stay put with the Candystripes for now, but the 21-year-old seems certain to be the subject of bids from across channel in due course.

It is believed that Ostersunds’ bid for Republic of Ireland U21 Curtis could have been worth around €150,000.

Curtis, who has netted six times this season, impressed Ostersunds when he scored Derry’s only goal in a 6-1 defeat to Danish side Midtjylland in the Europea League in June.

Graham Potter, the Ostersunds manager, made a move to lure the player to the Jämtkraft Arena ahead of the closure of the Swedish transfer window later today.
