Finn Harps-Sligo Rovers clash moved, no clash with Seamus Coleman event in Killybegs

Finn Harps’ relegation battle with Sligo Rovers at Finn Park has been moved back by 24 hours – meaning local football fans are in for a big weekend in Donegal!

Harps’ game against fellow relegation scrappers Sligo will now be played at Finn Park on Saturday, September 16 at 8pm, a change from the original date of September 15.

The news will be music to the ears of some local football fans as Seamus Coleman – a former Sligo player – is returning home for a fundraising night on Friday, September 15. ‘An Evening with Seamus Coleman’ is being held at the Blue Haven in Kilcar to aid with ground upgrades at Emerald Park, the home of Coleman’s boyhood club, St Catherine’s FC.

Coleman will hold a meet and greet with supporters that night while the Republic of Ireland captain – who is currently recovering from a double leg break – will also take part in a Q&A session.

Earlier in the season, a night with ex-Irish star Roy Keane clashed with Harps’ opening home fixture of the season against Cork City and hit the attendance in Ballybofey.
