St Mary’s, Convoy clinched promotion to Division 3 thanks to a nine-point win at Naomh Padraig, Muff in Ture on Saturday evening.

Naomh Padraig, Muff 0-8 St Mary’s, Convoy 0-17

Laurence McMullan’s team did the spadework in the first half, after which they led 0-10 to 0-4, and it was a straightforward evening thereafter for the Convoy men.

A draw would have done Convoy, but they raced into an early 0-7 to 0-2 lead with Paul O’Leary (3), Paddy Dolan (3) and Anthony Browne on the mark.

Emmet Patterson, Simon McGlynn and Dolan added points before the break.

And St Mary’s had little fuss in the second half as they secured elevation to Division 3.

St Mary’s, Convoy: S.Patton; K.Gillen, J.A.Kee, L.Prunty; B.McNamee, J.Kee, B.Bonner; R.McNamee, E.Patterson; P.Dolan, A.Browne, C.Patton; S.McGlynn, P.OLeary, D.Bonner. Subs used: P.Blake, T.McHugh, O.Porter.
