Seamus Campbell saw his Naomh Conaill ladies win a third piece of silverware this year – and says 15 years of hard work finally paid off.

The Naomh Conaill ladies team has been on the go for 15 years and yesterday evening landed their first Championship crown as Alanah McDonnell starred in a 6-9 to 2-8 win over Naomh Muire.

McDonnell bagged 4-4 of the Naomh Conaill total as they added the Junior A crown to the Donegal and All-Ireland Gaeltacht crowns collected earlier in the year.

“This is our first Championship so it means a lot to the girls,” Campbell said.

“There’s been a lot of work going into this.

“Our main aim has always been to win this Championship and get the club out of Junior football. They dug deep, worked hard and got the reward.”
