Raiders broke into Kee’s Eurospar supermarket in Laghey causing a considerable amount of damage.

The thieves broke into the popular store around 11pm on Monday night and took a large quantity of cigarettes and alcohol.

The supermarket put up a Facebook post confirming they had been broken into and appealed for anyone with information to contact Gardai.

“Yesterday evening we had some late night visitors, they done a lot of damage and stole cigarettes and spirits. We had to close off some parts of the supermarket while the Gardai were doing their investigations, we are sorry to customers for any inconvenience this has caused.

“The Gardai response was immediate and they have been brilliant, if you happened to be in Laghey or passing through and you seen anything odd or suspicious between 9pm and 12pm it may be of help to the Gardai they can be contacted directly in Donegal town on 074 9721021 or ring us here at 0749721805”.

Gardai have carried out a full examination of the scene.
