Donegal women Zoe McGlynn and Amy Boyle-Carr were two of the big winners as Sion Swifts ladies toasted their super season last night.

Sion won the Electric Ireland Irish FA Women’s Cup final and finished second in the Northern Ireland Women’s Premiership

It was a magnificent campaign for Sion that ended in Cup glory as captain Kendra McMullan scored twice in a 2-0 win over Newry City at Windsor Park.

Last night at the Fir Trees in Strabane, Sion marked their fine year at a celebratory bash.

Raphoe’s McGlynn was named as the senior players’ player of the year and Glenties native Boyle-Carr was crowned the senior player of the year.

Lifford duo Emma Carlin and Laura McCurdy, St Johnston woman Tyler Toland, Ciana Brogan from Manor, Niamh Mailey of Convoy and Letterkenny’s Julianne Herrity were all part of the Sion squad in 2017.
