Sligo Rovers manager Gerard Lyttle described last night’s last-gasp win over Finn Harps as ‘massive’ for the Bit O’Red.

Rhys McCabe’s injury-time winner, after Paddy McCourt cancelled out Vinny Faherty’s opener, sparked off huge celebrations among the hundreds of visiting Sligo supporters.

“It’s a massive win,” Lyttle said as Sligo leapfrogged Harps.

“There’s no denying that. It was a huge game. Finn Harps would have taken a draw, but it was a game we really needed to win it.

“it’s huge. A point mightn’t have been the worst, but to come here and pull off a win is massive. The boys have real togetherness now and we need that coming into the last part of the season. We’re in a good place at the minute.”
