Mayo fans were hoping for to lift the Sam Maguire for the first time in 66 years, as Dublin fans prayed to secure a hat trick.
It seems that history has repeated itself as Mayo was one point short of a tie while facing Dublin last year as well, with the final score standing at Dublin 1-17 Mayo 1-16.
In a speech, Stephen Cluxton applauded Mayo for a well-played final and their sportsmanship.
