Champions Cockhill Celtic showed their ruthless mettle again with a 6-0 rout against Bonagee United while Finn Harps Reserves chalked up a big 5-0 win over Swilly Rovers in the Four Lanterns Ulster Senior League.

Cockhill Celtic 6 Bonagee United 0

Cockhill were on top from the start in this game and should have went ahead in the first minute. Ronan Doherty crossed for Mark Coyle who side stepped a defender before shooting at Gareth Wade.

They took the lead on 3 minutes when Garbhan Friel was released down the right, his pinpoint cross superbly headed home by Laurence Toland.

It was 2-0 on 13 minutes. A Ryan Varma free kick found William O’Connor. His downward header hit the post and bounced across goal before Oisin McColgan converted from close range.

Cockhill continued to dominate and on 25 minutes it was 3-0. Toland found space down the right and his cross was flicked home by James Bradley.

Bonagee then had their best spell of the half forcing a number of set pieces but any balls in the box were comfortably dealt with by Gavin Cullen although Cockhill did have an escape when a Larkin cross across goal had no takers.

The second half started in a similar fashion and Bonagee’s job was made harder on 54 minutes when Funston was red carded after kicking out off the ball.

On 57 minutes James Bradley evaded a number of challenges before forcing a fine save from Wade.

On 67 minutes, Wade produced a fantastic save to deny Mark Moran but was beaten for the 4th time when Marty Doherty coolly slotted home after a Friel shot was deflected into his path.

It was 5-0 on 79 minutes when Bradley released Moran who advanced into the box before passing the ball past Wade.

Bradley got his second of the game on 85 minutes, converting after good work by Marty Doherty and Paul McKinney.

The game ended in farcical fashion when three players were red-carded in the 87th minute after Marty Doherty challenged Wade, Doherty being sent off for the challenge, Wade for retaliation and Bonagee’s Paul Simon Tracey getting a second yellow for dissent.

Finn Harps Reserves 5 Swilly Rovers 0

A young Harps side dominated this game from start to finish and took an early lead through a Liam Walsh free kick.

They quickly added a second through a Luke Nelis header followed by a great strike from Ryan Finn to make it three just before the break.

After the interval Harps created a number of chances but only for Sean Friel in the Swilly goal they could have added further goals.

Goals four and five came from Dylan McCroary and Zac Gorman to cap off a comfortable three points for the home side.
