Listen: ‘We didn’t show enough fight’ says Finn Harps boss Ollie Horgan

Finn Harps manager Ollie Horgan says his team ‘didn’t show enough fight’ and admits they look to be ‘gone’ after tonight’s defeat to Derry City in Buncrana.

Harps are on the brink of being relegated after Rory Patterson’s second-half double, added to Ronan Curtis’ opener, gave Derry an easy 3-0 win.

“Disappointed not just in the result, but that we didn’t show enough fight,” Horgan said.

“It looked like a mid-season game.

“We didn’t have the same fight and commitment that we had even in last week’s game when we lost 2-0 to Dundalk.

“We’re on a bad run and there’s a lack of confidence and maybe a bit of nerves crept in too.”

With just two games to go, Harps are five points from a position of safety.

Horgan said: “It looks like we’re gone.

“It’s a tough place to be, mentally and physically. We need to get a performance and fight back against Drogheda.”
