Finn Harps v Drogheda United called off as rainfall leaves Finn Park unplayable

The Finn Harps v Drogheda United game has been called off tonight due to a waterlogged pitch at Finn Park.

Heavy rainfall in Ballybofey  this afternoon has rendered Finn Park unplayable.

Finn Park passed a pitch inspection this morning in spite of a deluge last night, but the persistent rain has left conditions unsuitable.

Match referee Paul McLaughlin carried out a pitch inspection upon his arrival at the venue and called it off.

The result means now that Harps’ top flight fate could be sealed this weekend without Ollie Horgan’s men playing.

They need Galway United to lose to Limerick and Sligo Rovers to lose to Derry City tomorrow night.
