The 4-star Hotel is owned by Donegal family the McGettigans. who have hotels and bars all over the world.

Welcoming the news, Bonagee United Chairman Donal Coyle said: “We are delighted to have the Clanree on board as our new club sponsors.

“The McGettigan brand is known across the world and it is great to have them putting something into a local club like ourselves.

“We are a community-based and community-orientated club, which fits in perfectly with the ethos of the McGettigan’s brand and we look forward to working in partnership with them.”

Bonagee United currently caters for over 400 players across 20 different teams and is the only club in Donegal offering football at every level from under-8 boys and girls right up to Ulster Senior League.

Last November, Bonagee United unveiled the latest phase of development at Dry Arch Park with the official switching on of the new floodlights; the most recent addition to an overall re-development project that began back in 1998.

In addition to the new floodlights, the club resurfaced one of its astroturf pitches and also developed a new wheelchair viewing area and a presentation/press area in the stand.

Michael Naughton, General Manager of the Clanree Hotel, said: “We are thrilled to be in partnership with Bonagee United, a progressive and forward-thinking club in the local community.”
