Donegal death notices for today, Wednesday, November 1.

 

Shiela MC GETTIGAN (née Donaghy)
The death has occurred of Shiela McGettigan, Kilconell, Glebe, Kilmacrennan née Donaghy formerly Carrowmore, Gleneely peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family deeply regretted by her daughters Yvonne, Deirdre sons Eamon, Denis, Liam and Kevin daughters in law sons in law brothers sisters grandchildren great grandchildren nieces nephews relatives and friends.

Reposing at her home. Funeral on Thursday the 2nd November at 12.00midday in St Columba’s Church Kilmacrennanburial to adjoining cemetery. House private on morning of Funeral. Family flowers only donations in lieu to Palliative Care, Letterkennycare of any family member.

 

James Alexander (Alex) MC CONNELL
The death has occurred of James Alexander (Alex) Mc Connell, Celbridge, Kildare / Letterkenny, Donegal. Alex passed away peacefully in the wonderful care of the staff of St. James’s Hospital, Dublin, deeply regretted by his loving wife Marion, sons Gareth and Keith, sister Ruby (O’Malley), granddaughter Erìn, daughter-in-law Hester, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Reposing at Carroll and O’Neill Funeral Directors Funeral Home, Thornhill, Maynooth Road, Celbridge (beside The Celbridge House Pub, exit 6 off the M4 motorway) on Tuesday October 31st from 6pm until 8pm. Funeral Service on Thursday November 2nd in Christ Church, Celbridge at 2pm. Cremation afterwards in Mount Jerome Crematorium. House Private at all times please. All enquiries to Carroll & O’Neill Funeral Directors (01) 6270500. Family flowers only please, donations in lieu, if desired, to Crumlin Children’s Hospital.

 

Bridie LOUGHREY
The death has occurred of Bridie Loughrey, Trillick, Buncrana, Donegal, at Buncrana Nursing Unit.

Removal took place yesterday, Tuesday, to her home in Trillick, Buncrana. Funeral Mass on Thursday in St. Mary’s Cockhill, Buncrana at 11am, with burial afterwards in adjoining graveyard. House private from 10pm to 10am.

 

James Finbar BARRETT
The death has occurred of James Finbar Barrett, Blacklion, Co Cavan and Falcarragh, Co Donegal. Unexpectedly. Retired Sergeant with An Garda Síochána. Sadly missed by his wife Evelyn, sons Barry, Enda, Kevin and Brendan, daughters Ena and Aisling, daughters-in-law, sons-in-law, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, extended family, neighbours and friends.

His remains will repose in St Patrick’s Church, Killinagh, Blacklion on Thursday evening from 5pm until 7pm. Removal to his daughter Ena’s residence, 2 Meadowfield Manor, Newtowncunningham, Co Donegal where he will repose until 12.45pm on Saturday. Removal to Church of The Sacred Heart, Dunlewey, Co. Donegal for Requiem Mass at 2pm, burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.
