Donegal GAA will honour five retirees from the 2012 All-Ireland-winning squad at the forthcoming annual banquet.

Karl Lacey, Neil Gallagher, Christy Toye, Rory Kavanagh and David Walsh will all be honoured on Saturday-week in the Mount Errigal Hotel.

Lacey, Donegal’s most decorated player, was Footballer of the Year in 2012 when Donega won their second All-Ireland and the four-time All-Star stepped away at the end of after 148 appearances in the green and gold.

Lacey played 65 times in the Championship – a county record he shares with Toye.

Toye is Donegal’s second top appearance holder having played 163 games for his county while Kavanagh lined out in the green and gold 146 times.

Kavanagh inititially retired at the end of the 2014 season, following the All-Ireland defeat by Kerry and in 2015 released an autobiography, ‘Winning’.

Walsh was also a key member of the squad and after a couple of years plagued by injury, the Naomh Bríd man also announced his retirement.

Dinner will be served at 7.30pm sharp and tickets cost €35.
