Letterkenny Institute of Technology bowed out of the Umbro Cup today following a heavy defeat away to IT Tallaght.

The LyIT students lost 5-0 after a poor display in the capital.

LyIT found themselves two down at the break and they never recovered.

At 1-0 down, LyIT hit the post when Shane McNamee’s cross was met by Dean Larkin, but his shot cannoned off the post.

Jordan Andre bagged a hat-trick for the IT Tallaght side managed by former League of Ireland star Pat Scully, while Ruairi Fortune and Jordan Ojo were also on the mark.
