Finn Valley AC to honour 41 national medal winners at annual awards

Finn Valley AC will be a hive of activity on Sunday as the club’s annual youth awards will follow the Ulster Cross-Country Championships earlier in the day.

Some 1,200 athletes will compete for honours in the Championships and in the evening the Centre will be jammed.

There will be some 41 junior and youth athletes that got on the podium at national level during 2016/17 season who will be acknowledged.

It’s been yet another hectic and successful period.

Nobody will be left out as in addition all athlete members will receive a memento to recognise their efforts so a busy few hours some refreshments and an opportunity to look back with parents and family additionally acknowledge the hard working coaches

Author of 'Boxing In Donegal: A History (2021)' - the definitive history of the sport in County Donegal - and 'Relentless: A Race Through Time', the 2019 memoir of former Irish Athletics Team Manager Patsy McGonagle. From St Johnston and now based in Letterkenny, Chris was a nominee for NUJ Sports Journalist of the Year in 2010. Honoured by the Donegal Boxing Board in 2016 for his coverage on the sport.
