Seamus Coleman links up with Ireland squad in support role for play-off

Seamus Coleman has linked up with the Republic of Ireland squad in a supporting role ahead of Saturday’s World Cup play-off first leg against Denmark.

Ireland travel to Copenhagen to face the Danes in the first leg of the tie with the return leg in Dublin on Tuesday night.

Ireland captain Coleman is still recovering from the double leg break sustained in the March qualifier against Wales in Dublin.

The Everton full-back is on the way back and could return to action by the end of the year for his club.

But the Killybegs man has not shied away from the skipper’s role and joined the squad today at the FAI National Training Centre in Abbotstown for training.

Forward Jonathan Walters, also out injured, did likewise.
