Top Ulster award for Rosses AC ace Fodhla McFadden

Rosses AC’s Fodhla McFadden who was awarded with an Ulster Athletics Council Sports Star Award at the Four Seasons Hotel, Monaghan at the weekend. 

Fodhla was recognised for her outstanding performances in Triplejump and Longjump in 2017.

She was supported on the night by her mom Siobhan and coach Aidan Gillespie.

On Sunday last in the Finn Valley at the Memorial 10k run there were some great times with Eamonn McGee leading the Rosses field to finish 9th overall with a great time of 36.46.

Next was Charlie Postie who finished 10th and happy with a pb of 37.05.

Young Niall Gallagher on his first 10k had a great run finished 20th An got 38.16. Manus McHugh ran great An got a pb under the 40 to get 39.13. There’s no stopping this man Patrick Trimble who broke the 40 to get 39.45.

Paul McKelvey had a strong run and got a pb of 40.29.

Cathy Breslin not only got a pb today but on Saturday got 24 minutes in the park run in Dungloe and 51.48 on Sunday.

Claire O’Donnell and Laura Greene with Laura on her first 10k got 59.15 each and Martin Gallagher ran well without training in a while to get 65.16 and his wife Marie not far behind with 67.25.Hughie Mc Carron well done on his fist 10k as well. Well done to Owen Coyle on 5th place in Donegal town 5k memorial run.

SILVER CIRCLE WINNERS: DRAW 2, €100 – Charlie Boyle, Sold by Amanda Boyle, €75 – Amanda Boyle – sold by Jenny Sweeney, €50 – Hugh O’Donnell –  Sold by Ruadhan Gallagher.

Dates to note are the Juvenile presentation night in Caisleain Oir Annagry on Friday 24th November.

The Senior presentation night will be in the Waterfront Dungloe on Saturday 2nd December with our special guest being two time Olympian Danny McDaid.
