Daniel Clarke says Naomh Colmcille have just loved proving people wrong – and they mightn’t be finished just yet.

Clarke turned in a big display last night that included three points as Naomh Colmcille won the Ulster JFC title, defeating Belnaleck from Fermanagh in the decider 1-9 to 0-6.

Naomh Colmcille were 15/8 outsiders for the game having been priced as far out as 7/1 for their semi-final against Tattyreagh.

In two weeks’ time they go to Edinburgh to take on Dunedin Connollys in an All-Ireland JFC quarter-final.

“We didn’t dream about this at all,” Clarke, pictured by Joe Boland of North West News Pix, said.

“We knew we could give it a rattle but, Jesus, we didn’t expect to get this far. We loved trying to prove people wrong.

“Ah, it’s just a brilliant feeling.”
