Listen: Shane Byrne says Glengad nearing full tilt for tight Inishowen League title race

Just four points separate the top five teams in the Inishowen League Premier Division – and Shane Byrne has warned that champions Glengad are nearing full pelt again.

Glengad, the three-in-a-row champions in the Jackie Crossan Premier Division, are a point off early front-runners Aileach, and they face derby foes Culdaff, who are joint third, at The Crua on Sunday.

“We’re in a great position at the minute,” Byrne said.

“I haven’t put out the same team this year yet.”

Goalkeeper Kevin McLaughlin has retuned to the fold, while Terence Doherty, Adam Byrne and Shane Canning are back from injury with Christy Fildara now their only injury concern.

The Glengad manager said: “We’re happy enough where we are. It will be a tighter League this year than it has been for a few years. We’re a lot happier now we’re back to full strength again.”
