Letterkenny AC’s annual Turkey Trot took place this morning, with over 100 participants taking part.
This 5k fun run had a twist however! Before it all kicked off, participants were invited to predict their time, and the first ten who got it correct or very close won a Christmas dinner!
Paul Lee had it down to the second, crossing the finish line in exactly 20 minutes and 23 seconds as predicted!
Danny Mooney (15 minutes 3 seconds), Jackie Harvey (22 minutes 58 seconds), and Natasha Kelly (19 minutes 22 seconds) missed out on a perfect score by just two seconds.
Brian McBride (24 minutes 8 seconds) was within three seconds of his prediction, followed by Fergal Callan (22 minutes and 49 seconds) and Raymond Birch (16 minutes 31 seconds), who guessed within four seconds.
Maureen Doherty (29 minutes 13 seconds) and Vera Haughey (23 minutes 48 seconds) guessed within five seconds of their score, with Jessica Roberts (20 minutes 14 seconds) and Noreen Sharkey (26 minutes 33 seconds) being just six seconds off!
The first overall to cross the finish line was Danny Mooney (15 minutes 3 seconds), followed closely by Eoghain Mc Ginley four seconds later. Eoin Hughes came third, crossing in 16 minutes flat.
