A third National Medal comes to Lifford Strabane AC in a matter of weeks.

Master Senior Athlete Michael Duncan was the first to be in receipt of a National Bronze Marathon Medal at the end of October, Senior Female Athlete & leading lady Clarie McGuigan picked up her second National Bronze Medal at the Irish Life Health National Senior Championships last weekend and adult club coach Michael McKinney had the pleasure of announcing the fantastic news of a third National Medal being awarded to the relevantly new comer Lifford Strabane AC athlete Jessica Moorehead.

It was confirmed that Jessica was the 5th Donegal athlete to finish in the Irish Life Health National Senior & Even Age XC Championships, at the purpose built National Sports Campus, Abbotstown, Dublin last weekend resulting in a National Bronze Medal being awarded to her.  This athlete has displayed great potential since joining the club, her gutsy performance at the Donegal Senior Ladies Cross Country resulted in the Lifford Strabane AC ladies team picking up Bronze Medals on the day.

Everyone at the club are delighted for all 3 athletes, their attitude & commitment to training is evident in these results.  All 3 athletes are coached by Senior Adult Club Coach Michael McKinney.

Lifford Strabane AC’s Javelin thrower, Gareth Crawford Ulster & Irish U18 Champion 2016, Ulster U19 Champion, All Ireland Junior U20 Javelin Champion coached by Club Javelin Coach Damien Crawford, had the opportunity to meet & exchange training tips with the Olympic Javelin Champion Thomas Roehler, whilst at javelin coaching at Loughborough University where Gareth attends as a first-year student.
