Letterkenny AC trio present marathon proceeds to Donegal Down Syndrome Association

Three members of Letterkenny Athletic Club raised €2,220 for the Donegal Down Syndrome Association through participating in the Dublin City Marathon.

Gerard Mullen, Barry Mackey and Paul McMonagle handed over the proceeds this week.

The trio competed in the Marathon at the end of October.

Paul came up with the idea to raise some much needed finance for the local charity group back in the summer, and his club mates, Barry and Gerard, rowed in.

Along with raising a large amount through sponsorship, all three also posted personal best times for the 26.2 mile distance.

They are pictured handing over the cheque at the Donegal Down Syndrome Office on Letterkenny’s High Road to Sheila and Shaun McMenamin, Marie Lynch and Elsa Rodgers.

The three Letterkenny AC members extend their thanks to all who made a contribution to the cause.
