Declan Bonner is well aware that he has a ‘challenge’ in 2018 as the manager of the Donegal senior football team – but the Lettermacaward man will meet it head on.

Bonner had a previous stint as manager having been appointed on the evening of his 32nd birthday in 1997, but has returned now following a spell managing Donegal underage teams.

“There is a huge responsibility, but we’re looking forward to the challenge,” Bonner –above, centre – said.

“The attitude has been top class. It’s looking good. It is early days and we have work to do, but it’s been good so far. We have a squad there with a lot of new faces.

“We have to take these small steps.”
