Donegal County Council has announced that they will be sending out gritters tonight and tomorrow morning as temperatures are set to dip below freezing.

Gritters will be in action from 8pm tonight, and again at 6am tomorrow morning.

The regional forecast from Met Éireann indicates that tonight will be cold with clear skies at first.

“It will turn frosty with lowest temperatures between minus 1 and plus 2 degrees in light winds. Showers will develop later, clearing any frost.”

Tomorrow will be a little bit warmer, with highest temperatures of 5 to 7 degrees in a light to moderate westerly breeze.

They also forecast a mix of bright spells and clouds with some shower, most frequent through the morning.
