Paul Hegarty is set to remain as assistant manager to Ollie Horgan at Finn Harps.

Following Harps’ relegation from the Premier Division this season, there had been fears that the Ballindrait man would give up the role.

However, Harps boss Horgan has confirmed that Hegarty – a former Harps player who managed the club from 2007-2009 – is staying on.

“Paul is staying on and i’m delighted that he is staying on,” Horgan told Donegal Daily/Donegal Sport Hub in an interview.

Horgan has already secured the services of Ciaran Coll, Shane Blaney, Gareth Harkin and Paddy McCourt for next season.

The Harps manager is hopeful of confirming the likes of Ciaran Gallagher and Damien McNulty having also added a new face in the form of Strabane man Aidan Friel.
